The Texas Education Agency released its accountability ratings for the 2022-2023 school April 24, revealing that Springtown ISD received a “C” rating under the A-F system. Springtown ISD Superintendent Shane Strickland issued a statement regarding the rating on the school website as well as on the district’s social media accounts.

“Today, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) released A–F Accountability System ratings for the 2022– 2023 school year, along with updated ratings for 2022,” Strickland said. “The release was delayed after more than 120 school districts — including ours — raised concerns about significant changes to the accountability system that were implemented with limited notice. This rating was also based on our performance on the new STAAR 2.0 assessments, which introduced several major changes: (1) students took the test online for the first time, (2) new interactive item types were included and (3) written extended and short constructed responses were embedded across all content areas.”
