Springtown High School may add another club to its roster. Agriculture teacher Roy Stevens spoke to the Springtown ISD School board of trustees Monday, April 28 about the possibility of adding a clay shooting club after he was approached by multiple parents.
“Other high schools participate in that club,” Stevens said. “I did some research and talked to other ag teachers that I know who offer this program at other high schools. There are two different avenues we can go.”
Steven explained that some high schools go through the Ag Clay Target Shooting Club within the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, while others go through Texas State High School Clay Target League. From his research, some high schools participate in both programs due to the programs participating in the same events.
