Tamaoki, King are SHS valedictorian, salutatorian

The top spot at Springtown High School has been claimed by Dominique Tamaoki, valedictorian of the class of 2025.

Tamaoki was surprised as students hadn’t been able to see their final grades for a while.

“It was funny because they didn’t release our transcripts a week after teachers finalized our grades,” Tamaoki said. Tamaoki recalls that all the seniors were sitting in the gym and the staff had called the top 10% to the front and the students looked around confused as they didn’t know who was ranked in the top 25. “The teacher started to call in order and she called me first,” Tamaoki said. When her name was called, she sighed with relief. Tamaoki has been at the top of her class academically all her high school career.
