Walnut Creek SUD board hears general manager’s report

The board of directors for Walnut Creek Special Utility District heard an update from Distribution Administrative Supervisor Perry Day when it met April 21. Day presented the report to the board because General Manager James Blackwood was not present at the board meeting.

Day informed the board about a number of ongoing projects attributable to the $40 million bond are underway and are at various stages of completion, including: The 1-million-gallon ground storage tank on Farm-to-Market Road 920 is complete and painting is underway. The tie-in for a 12-inch line was completed March 11 and options for the 16-inch tie-in are being explored to avoid shutting off water to Poolville.

The 2-million-gallon ground storage tank at the water plant is complete and awaiting tie-in so disinfection can be done.
