Springtown nuns look for residency and talk struggles
Many changes have come within the last few weeks for the Catholic Church. The late Pope Francis passed away the Monday after Easter, April 21. Soon after, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost from the U.S. was chosen as the 267th Pope. Many Catholics do not align themselves with the Catholic Church anymore and the teachings of the late Pope.
But nothing worth having comes without sacrifice. For Sister Francesca and Sister Bernadette, sacrifice means giving up everything to live a life completely devoted to God and happily choosing to do so. Sister Francesca and Sister Bernadette live outside of a nunnery and are in search of a convent to reside in. The sisters are not attached to the Catholic Diocese due to what they perceive as modern teachings and corruption within the Catholic Church. In the Roman Catholic Church, a diocese is a geographical area governed by a bishop who serves as a spiritual leader and administrator for the local Catholic community. It’s a region where the bishop oversees the religious life, including parishes and other related organizations. Since the sisters are not a part of the diocese, they do not receive any funding but are trying to raise money to create a convent for sisters who live within the order of Saint Francis.
