Springtown tree gets a makeover

The city of Springtown’s Facebook page gained a lot of traction from a viral video showcasing the transformation of what was once an old tree into a piece of art. Near Newby pavilion, located behind Wells Fargo Bank on the Square, a tree that once provided shade now showcases Texas wildlife. The video has more than 34,000 views and 4,800 comments.

Chainsaw carver Kevin Roach was commissioned by the city of Springtown to turn the tree into a display of nature that surrounds this area. Originally working in the oil field, Roach developed a hobby of chainsaw carving which eventually led him to this career.
