Springtown High School has been named a U.S. Department of State Medallion Member School, an honor reserved for a select group of schools nationwide that demonstrate a strong commitment to international education and cultural exchange. This recognition comes because of the school’s role in hosting Rachel Irwan, an exchange student from Indonesia placed through the Pan Atlantic Foundation during the 2024–2025 school year.
Randi-Beth Stratmeyer, a local area representative of the Pan Atlantic Foundation, presented certificates to Superintendent Shane Strickland and Springtown High School Principal Andrew Hohman.
“This goes to schools who go above and beyond in support of international exchange students and you did this by welcoming Rachel through the program,” Stratmeyer said. “A special thank you to Mr. Strickland and Mr. Hohman for making sure that Rachel’s placement was possible. Without the two of you, this would never have happened. By welcoming Rachel, you said ‘Yes’ to global understanding, friendship and growth for not just Rachel but for your students and your community. On behalf of Pan Atlantic Foundation, we’re proud to recognize Springtown’s leadership and partnership and I’m excited to continue bringing more incredible students to this outstanding school.”
