The Springtown Legends Museum has returned to hosting activities after a brief hiatus with an explosive experiment.

Museum Coordinator Amy Hedges started the STEM experiments back in January after the museum’s reopening to the public in November. On May 30, the experiment was to recreate a volcanic explosion using vinegar, baking soda and food coloring. The purpose of the experiment was to teach kids about chemical reactions, acids, bases and the production of carbon dioxide gas, which creates the eruption effect.
