In today’s modern world, handmade quilts, bags, clothes, pillowcases and other accessories are very rare and hard to find. Sewing items by hand is a hobby that is becoming scarce in this age of technology.
But in Springtown, “Love n Stitches” is keeping the art of quilting and sewing items by hand alive and well. Every other Thursday morning from 9 to 11 a.m., a group of Springtown women comes together to make quilts or other sewn accessories to give back to the community.
The meetings start with everyone showing what they made that month. Then they discuss what next big project they’re going to work on. For July, the group has decided to make pillowcases to sell at the Wild West Fest.
