Outdated facility limits health protections and increases emotional stress for animals
The Springtown Animal Shelter’s current layout and limited space make it difficult to keep animals healthy, lower their stress, and increase their chances of adoption.
About 10 years ago, the City of Springtown ceased handling local animal control and contracted with Parker County Animal Control, sending animals to the Weatherford Animal Shelter. However, as the number of animals from Springtown increased significantly, the city reopened the Springtown Animal Shelter to the public in October 2022. The shelter rapidly exceeded its anticipated intake of animals.
