The Reno City Council voted to allow its police and water departments to fill vacant positions during a July 14 council meeting.
Officer A. Estrada informed the council the department lost a reserve officer and a full-time employee, leaving two positions that need to be filled.
Mayor Pro Tem Jennifer Vogle expressed her worry and sympathy for the Reno police department.
