Deadly gift: Woman allegedly planned to poison ex-husband

A woman accused of soliciting the murder of her former husband was arrested by member of the Parker County Sheriff’s Special Crimes Unit and subsequently indicted Thursday, July 10.

Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said in a press release the investigation was initiated when a protected source reported that a woman identified as Pamela Jean Stanley, 63, was developing a plan to murder her ex-husband.

According to the release, Stanley was recorded as she explained to an acquaintance that she was seeking to purchase powdered fentanyl, and “inject” it in a high-end box of chocolates and further planned to mail it to her exhusband making it appear to have been from a travel agency as a congratulatory gift for his recent engagement along with a “honeymoon” incentive offer.
