Crawford’s unique role juggles people and payroll
In most companies, the human resources department and the accounting department are very different from one another. The HR department focuses on people in terms of recruitment, employee relations, training, benefits, performance and workplace culture. The accounting department focuses on the money, financial transactions, budgeting, payroll, taxes and compliance with financial regulations. These departments rarely overlap within businesses and organizations. But in the city of Springtown, Melony Crawford works both roles.
“It’s not common for the HR manager to oversee both departments because you don’t want there to be a conflict, but it actually works out great,” Crawford said.
