WCSUD issues Stage 2 drought notice to customers

Boil water notice issued for Bitter Sweet Springs

Customers of Walnut Creek Special Utility District are now under Stage 2 watering restrictions after the district initially implemented temporary Stage 3 watering restrictions Friday July 25. Customers received notice that the system pumps could not keep up with the demand during irrigation times and that the system was losing water due to irrigation faster than the system could be replenished.

WCSUD informed its customers the Stage 3 restrictions would temporary — until the system can recover, at which time the watering stage will be reevaluated. Walnut Creek asked customers to comply by not watering outside so that essential water can be supplied for drinking and bathing.
