The city of Springtown offered condolences and solidarity with victims and survivors of the catastrophic flooding that took place July 4 in the Hill Country of Texas.

At a regular city council meeting July 24, a resolution was approved by the council expressing support for the victims and communities impacted by the recent flooding in the Texas Hill Country. Towns such as Kerrville and Hunt experienced catastrophic flooding due to unprecedented rainfall which resulted in widespread damage to homes, infrastructure, schools, businesses, children’s camps and the environment. Many Texans and families have suffered displacement, loss of personal property, injuries and the tragic loss of life due to the flooding.

In the resolution, Springtown Mayor Mike Kelley, the city council and staff of Springtown recognized the hardship and emotional toll that such disasters impose on affected communities and expressed wishes to extend their heartfelt concern and solidarity. Assistant City Administrator Christina Derr read the resolution out loud for the public to hear the message of support.
