New school promised to have better traffic flow
With Springtown ISD getting a new elementary school set to open in August 2027, the district submitted a petition to the Springtown City Council for voluntary annexation of a 27.035-acre parcel located in the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction at the southeast corner of Williams-Ward Road and Springfield Road. The new 100,000 square foot, two-story school will sit on 17 acres to accommodate 700 kindergarten through fifth grade students.
Springtown ISD Superintendent Shane Strickland and Director of Operations Micheal Chavez appeared at the July 24 regular city council meeting to answer any questions about the proposed annexation and plans for the new school.
