Volleyball, cross country and football shone in a golden era for Springtown athletics
November 1995 remains a golden chapter in the history of Springtown High School athletics. That fall, the Porcupines saw success across multiple sports, marking one of the most celebrated seasons in school history.
The football team thrilled fans with a dramatic 15-14 bi-district playoff win over Vernon, earning a matchup against Childress. Though the season ended in heartbreak after a 17-17 tie with Commerce — who advanced on game penetrations — it was a playoff run that sparked community pride and excitement.
