Out for blood: Springtown joins Battle of the Badges

The fight is on for the sixth annual Battle of the Badges for the Springtown Police Department, Parker County ESD 1 and Carter BloodCare.

The event is a friendly competition between local first responder agencies to see who can recruit the most blood donors. This year’s event spanned two days, Aug. 15-16, and served as a way to boost blood donations — especially at a time when the need is high — while also fostering camaraderie between city and county first responders. Each participant votes for either the city police department or PC ESD 1 to win. The city will announce the winners a week after twoday event.
