New day rises for SHS class of ‘26

Last first day celebrated with senior sunrise

The class of 2026 celebrated their final first day of school Wednesday, Aug. 13.

Seniors started the day off with the annual tradition called “Senior Sunrise,” meeting at the football field, having breakfast and watching the sunrise together. Parents involved in Project Celebration put the event together, setting up various picture stations for the seniors and providing them with breakfast. The senior class typically gets together to take a class photo with the sunrise in the background.
