Beware of Wild West scammers

Springtown chamber warns businesses to be cautious

The annual Wild West Festival is just a month away and more than 200 vendors are expected to participate in the event.

With big events like these, sometimes scammers try to take advantage of local business owners. On Sunday, Aug. 10, the Springtown Area Chamber of Commerce posted on Facebook that some Springtown businesses have been contacted by a company encouraging them to purchase a booth, purporting to act on behalf of the chamber. The chamber Facebook post informed the public the scammers are not affiliated with or sponsored by the Springtown Area Chamber of Commerce.
