The Springtown Lady Porcupines proved why they are among the state’s best Tuesday night, sweeping Boyd 3-0 at home to avenge an early-season loss. The hometown crowd fueled the Lady Pines as they controlled the match from the opening serve.
Libby Tedder led the way with 14 kills, while Addy Burtnett added nine. Reagan Beall was dominant at the net with five blocks, and Brooklyn Quintanilla paced the defense with 15 digs. Bailey Walker directed the offense with 15 assists, setting up a balanced attack that kept the Yellow Jackets on their heels.
The Lady Pines (285) carried momentum into Friday’s matchup against 30-1 Mansfield, but the Tigers proved too much in a threeset sweep. Tedder again led with eight kills, while Walker tallied 11 assists. Quintanilla and Katie Conway anchored the defense with 10 digs apiece.
