Derr wears many hats, serves one city
Known for wearing many hats, Christina Derr keeps operations running behind the scenes as Springtown’s Assistant City Administrator and City Secretary. CYNTHIA GARCIA | SPRINGTOWN EPIGRAPH

As city secretary and assistant administrator, Derr serves with dedication

Since joining the city of Springtown in 2019, Derr has held a variety of roles — from public information officer and IT director to planning and zoning coordinator — but her commitment to the community has never wavered. She began as an administrative specialist and was later promoted to director of administrative services in 2021, where she also oversaw building inspections, development, animal control and the library.

In September 2022, she was named interim city secretary, adding responsibilities like overseeing the municipal court and museum. That role became official in May 2023, and by May 2024, she was promoted to assistant city administrator/city secretary — a title that simply formalized duties she had already been performing.
