In the spirit of transparency, Walnut Creek Special Utility District board of directors discussed the possible creation of an advisory committee. During the Sept. 15 regular board meeting, Board President Bo Walker suggested the idea, saying he wants to create the committee to address various topics and concerns from customers.
“The purpose of this committee is to identify, evaluate and prioritize concerns affecting the vast majority of Walnut Creek members,” Walker said. “These concerns would all be organized with a consistent format established and modified by the board of directors.”
Walker explained the format of the committee would serve to identify each concerning issue and identify the impact of the issue. The committee would also cover any legislative liability and would recommend potential solutions to be considered. The agendas for the monthly board meetings would be revised to include a monthly advisory committee report to discuss each individual issue. The board of directors will possibly determine if action is needed to be taken and the item will be included in the agenda for the next monthly board meeting.
