Screen-free space helps students build healthy coping strategies and refresh their minds

Springtown High School counselors are dedicated to student wellness, offering a calm room where students can step away from stress, take a deep breath, relax and reset their minds.

The calm room, also known as the cool down room at the high school, was introduced during the 2023-24 school year by Springtown High School Counselor Katie Ballard, who brought the concept from her previous district after years of training in trauma-informed practices.
