The biannual Good Neighbors Blitz is once again slated to kick off Friday, Oct.10 and run through Saturday, Oct.11. During the two-day event, selected residents will have their homes repaired through the collective efforts of Servolution Network, its sponsors and hundreds of volunteers.

Twice a year — in April and October — Servolution Network selects low-income, disabled or elderly residents and makes repairs to their homes that have been put off or neglected due to their circumstance. The scope of repairs will range from foundation, HVAC, roof and lawn to deck repairs. This time around, three Springtown applicants were chosen — one Air Force veteran, one Navy veteran and a 68-year old woman needing HVAC and electrical work done. A total of 18 homes in the communities of Azle, Lake Worth and Fort Worth will also be blessed through the program.

Servolution Network is a faith-based nonprofit whose vision is to “create opportunities for the blessed to be a blessing” — a statement that has rung true since 2014 when founders Bruce Adams and Executive Director Jason Malewiski created the Good Neighbors program. Since its inception, the program has grown from minor home repairs to a full array of resources and support made available to those in need.
