The Sound of Springtown made a strong statement Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Aubrey band competition, dominating the 4A division and showing they can compete with the best from larger schools. The Porcupine band swept every single 4A category, claiming Best in Class 4A, Best Percussion, Best Visual and Best Music.
In the finals, the Sound of Springtown placed third overall, finishing just behind two 5A powerhouses from Frisco — an impressive showing for a 4A program.
Band director Scot McPhetrige praised his students and staff for their hard work and performance.
