The homecoming crowd had plenty to cheer about Friday night as the Springtown Porcupines continued their perfect season with a 55-0 dismantling of Fort Worth Carter Riverside.
Springtown (6-0, 2-0 in district) didn’t even need its offense to touch the ball until late in the first quarter and by then, the Porcupines already led 14-0.
Junior Omar Hernandez ignited the night with a 67-yard punt return for a touchdown to open the scoring. On the next Carter Riverside possession, senior Brennan Smith blocked a punt and scooped it up for another score, sending the Porcupine faithful into an early frenzy.
