Parker County property tax statements to be mailed soon

Parker County property tax statements to be mailed soon

Parker County homeowners should be on the lookout for their property tax statements, which will be in the mail shortly, according to the Parker County Appraisal District.

According to a news release from PCAD, homeowners may notice a difference in their property tax bills this year, as the October statements will reflect recent changes passed by the Texas Legislature — even though voters have not yet cast their ballots. These changes include a $140,000 homestead exemption and a $200,000 exemption for homeowners over 65 or disabled on the school district portion of the tax bill, if they qualify. If the propositions do not pass, supplemental tax bills will be issued for the difference.

While property tax statements are typically mailed the first week of October, PCAD Chief Appraiser Troy Hanson said tax statements for Springtown ISD residents who live in Wise County will be mailed in the second print run — approximately two weeks after the first run — which covers Parker County.
