Pumpkins, alpacas, more draw crowd for Pumpkin Palooza

Fall is upon us and the Springtown Garden Center brought all its colors and scents Saturday, Oct.11 during the Pumpkin Palooza, where the smell of funnel cakes guided shoppers through a maze of pumpkins and vendor booths throughout the day.

Seasonal plants and flowers served as the backdrop to where more than 30 vendors offered an array of custom-made merchandise, treats and home décor — something for everyone. A pumpkin painting and carving station full of paint brushes, googly eyes and glitter was set up as children dressed in their Halloween costumes took their turns at the table. Around the corner was an interactive alpaca station where kids were able to pet, brush and come eye-to-eye with their docile friends — well almost.

While the adults may not have had a petting station set up for them, they stayed busy perusing shops and picking out the perfect pumpkins — a not-so-easy task given the dozens of varieties on hand. Pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors were available for purchase and customers took advantage — hauling them off in dollies back to their cars.
