The Springtown Porcupines kept their district title hopes alive Friday night, rolling past Fort Worth Eastern Hills 48-14 at Handley Field. The victory not only extended the Porcupines’ winning streak but also marked head coach Brian Hulett’s 150th career win — a major milestone as he inches closer to becoming Springtown High School’s all-time wins leader.
Junior quarterback Kaine Hill ignited the Porcupine offense with a breakout performance through the air, completing 24 of 34 passes for 425 yards and four touchdowns. His longest strike came on a 53-yard touchdown pass to Christian Mendoza, one of several explosive plays that defined the night.
Mendoza proved to be Hill’s top target, hauling in nine receptions for 124 yards and two scores. Fellow receiver Pilot Grubis added six catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns, giving the Porcupine passing game a balanced and dangerous look.
