The Springtown Porcupines continued their dominant march through District 5-4A play, overwhelming Diamond Hill Jarvis 59-0 Friday night. The win keeps the Porcupines on a collision course with Decatur for the district championship Halloween night.
Before that marquee matchup, Springtown will travel to Fort Worth’s Clark Stadium to face Western Hills Oct. 23, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
All three phases of the game fired on all cylinders for the Porcupines against Diamond Hill. The defense and special teams played key roles in setting the tone early, highlighted by a memorable first-quarter play. A blocked punt by Chase McGraw bounced loose before defensive lineman Andrew Bast scooped it up and rumbled into the end zone, a defensive lineman’s dream. Bast’s heads-up play earned him Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
