The Sound of Springtown marching band is headed to state competition. The Porcupine band earned its spot at the 2025 UIL State Marching Contest after finishing fifth of 32 bands at the 4A Area B competition Oct. 25 at the C.H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton. The Sound of Springtown is led by director Scot McPhetrige.
“The band students have really responded well to the show’s theme and music, they have shown up ready to work hard everyday and that work has paid off,” McPhetrige said.
The band will travel to San Antonio Nov. 4 to compete Nov. 5 and return home Nov. 6.
