Springtown standout Madelyn Walker capped her cross-country season with a strong performance at the UIL Class 4A State Meet Saturday, Nov. 1, at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
The Lady Porcupine sophomore finished 51st overall out of 151 runners, clocking her best state meet time at 12:08.8. This marked Walker’s second consecutive state appearance after qualifying as a freshman last season.
“While the final result wasn't what she hoped for, her perseverance and grit exemplify what our team is all about. We are extremely proud of her effort and heart from start to finish” said head coach Raul Guerrero.
