Knoll’s service spans battlefield, classroom

Knoll’s service spans battlefield, classroom

As the nation pauses to honor the men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States military, we turn the spotlight on Randon Knoll, whose life of service spans both battlefield and classroom. Knoll is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who now works as a history teacher and assistant wrestling coach at Azle High School.

Knoll, who retired from the Marine Corps as a major after more than two decades of service from 1997 to 2018, exemplifies the values of leadership, discipline and integrity that he now instills in Azle students every day.

During his distinguished career, Knoll served in a variety of assignments, including Marine Security Company at Camp David, Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps in Ames, Iowa, and with the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton. He also completed duty with the recruiting station in Des Moines, Iowa, and the 8th Marine Corps District in Fort Worth, among others.
