After a period of uncertainty, deliberation and change, city of Reno residents spoke with an overwhelming response to two proposed measures in the Nov. 4 election.
With both ballot measures approved, Reno will continue to be served by Parker County Emergency Services District No.1 beginning Oct. 1, 2026. City residents have been receiving fire protection services from ESD1 since Oct. 1 via a contract between ESD1 and the city of Reno, but with voter approval, the permanence of the situation is no longer in question.
In a press release, PC ESD1 Fire Chief Stephen Watson said “Parker County ESD No.1 remains committed to delivering capable and effective protection of life and property throughout the communities we serve.”
