The third annual Welding Build Off competition was held outside Porcupine Stadium Friday, Nov. 7, where 16 teams from all over the state gathered to compete for top prizes.
Hosted by the Springtown High School FFA and welding department, the day-long event drew students from 16 high schools, each with a four-person team who paid a $375 entry fee to represent their school and demonstrate their welding skills.
Throughout the competition each team was to follow a strict set of guidelines with only limited guidance from their advisors — pushing them to collaborate toward one objective.
