A city that takes care of its veterans

A city that takes care of its veterans
The Springtown Elementary School choir performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “America, the Beautiful” in song and in sign language.

The Springtown Tabernacle was filled to overflowing with residents with a burning desire to honor a special group of heroes — those who served in the United States military.

The celebration began with a parade that started at Springtown Elementary School, traveled west on Second Street and made its way around the Tabernacle, where it ended on the south side. Parade participants then joined the others under the Tabernacle to hear from city leaders.

Mayor Mike Kelley kicked off the ceremonies, welcoming all who came to participate. He introduced Mayor Pro Tem Walter Roberson, who gave the invocation, and Springtown council member Scott Richardson, who led the Pledge of Allegiance.
