Springtown’s remarkable volleyball run came to a close Monday, Nov. 10, as the Lady Porcupines fell to Decatur 3–1 in the Class 4A regional final at Northwest High School. It was the fourth meeting of the season between the two powerhouses, with Springtown and Decatur having split two district matches and the Lady Pines winning a seeding tiebreaker in Paradise.

Monday’s matchup, however, was the one that mattered most. Unlike the previous meetings, there was no “tomorrow.” The loss ended Springtown’s season and a postseason journey that carried them farther than any team since 2001.

Despite the disappointment, the Lady Porcupines closed the year with accomplishments unmatched at Springtown High School. They finished 43-10 overall — the most wins in a single season in school history — earned the District 7-4A runner-up spot, claimed the regional semi-final championship, and reached the regional final for the first time in 25 years.
