Some are thawing turkeys, some are stringing tinsel and some are getting ready to store all the goodies they had to offer over the summer — but not before the city of Springtown wrapped up its final farmers market day Saturday, Nov. 15.
More than 35 vendors brought their best, enjoying a day full of sun and camaraderie, ready to sell their usual goods to include fiery salsa, special pet treats, homemade bread, hand-crafted goods, seasonal vegetables, plants, pasta and more.
One Saturday a month, the city hosts a farmers market at Newby Pavilion in Springtown Park where vendors set up their stands and offer an array of merchandise — uniting neighbors in a community setting, if only for a day. And while this season may be over, there’s no need to fret because next year’s markets are already tentatively scheduled as follows: Feb. 21, Mar. 21, April 18 and May 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
