On Dec. 13, the city will host its Old-Fashioned Christmas event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Springtown Square. The event will feature an ice-skating rink, local vendors, a toboggan sled, a children’s area with inflatables and another opportunity for children to get pictures with Santa Claus. This year, the event will also feature the world’s largest rocking horse, which is being brought in from another state.
“Our Old-Fashioned Christmas event has been its own rich history, rooted in nostalgia. The celebration was created to bring back the warmth of the bygone holidays, complete with home crafts, traditional treats, local vendors and family friendly activities. Each year, the event has grown to include more attractions in a wide variety of shopping and entertainment opportunities,” said Rachele Ortega, the city’s executive assistant/events coordinator.
The event will also feature 15-minute anchor performances that will start at 10 a.m. from third graders across the district, the Showstoppers, the mini Showstoppers and solo performances. After the performances, a DJ will keep the holiday spirit going with Christmas music.
