The Springtown ISD board of trustees held a meeting Monday, Nov. 17 that highlighted student and staff achievements, provided updates on school renovations and discussed target improvement plans for select campuses.
While the board room is normally filled with the sounds of shuffling papers and muffled conversations, this meeting began a little differently — instead, it brimmed with giggles and music as Springtown Elementary’s Orff group kicked things off with a musical performance of the “Hey, Hey Jam.” SES music teacher Sally McPhetrige directed the fourth grade ensemble through its xylophone-infused song before thanking the board and making an exit, prompting the official start of business.
