Springtown’s remarkable 2025 football season came to a close Friday, Nov. 28, when the Porcupines fell to Alvarado 64–13 in the Class 4A Division I Regional Semifinal at Eagle Mountain High School. The 3 p.m. matchup featured two unbeaten teams who entered the contest at 12-0, but the Indians seized control early and never let go.

The path to the regional semifinal went through the Birdville ISD Athletic Complex, where the Porcupines defeated Frisco Panther Creek 49-41 in the UIL Class 4A area round Friday, Nov. 21.

The Porcupines’ rushing attack proved unstoppable as senior running back Jon Lardizabal pounded out 187 yards on 26 carries and scored three touchdowns against Panther Creek. Quarterback Kaine Hill provided steady balance, completing 12 of 17 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown.
