The season of joy and kindness is underway and Parker County Center of Hope is clearing the path for helping hands and open hearts. Its Christmas Celebration of Hope event is scheduled for Dec. 17 at Venue on the Square, located at 116 Optimist Road in Springtown.

During this festive one-day celebration, families in need can visit joy stations to select small gifts, treats and essentials — such as mittens, blankets and toys — collected and distributed by volunteers. Together with sponsors, partners and volunteers, Center of Hope will provide a Christmas meal, prayer, Santa photos, goodies, and gifts — all at no cost to participants.

Center of Hope Chief Executive Officer Staci Markwardt said rather than simply providing a hot meal, this year’s focus was on creating a “true Christmas experience.”
