Anonymous donations clear student lunch debt, more
Not simply monetary donations

In true holiday fashion, three anonymous donors recently blessed Springtown Independent School District schools by stepping in and making donations to help clear student lunch debt — offering relief for students, families and the program that manages it all.

SISD Director of Child Nutrition Laura Champagne confirmed that Springtown and Goshen Creek Elementary Schools received separate donations — two to Goshen and one to Springtown — and while the identity of the donors is unclear, they are believed to be grandparents of attending students.

Both school lunch balances were just under $200, with Springtown Elementary ranging between $100-$200 and Goshen Creek between $170-$200 — a small but much appreciated dent to the district’s current $3,800 negative balance.
