Taressa Kayle Mathis, age 63, of Springtown, went to meet her Lord Jesus June 1, 2026, surrounded by family.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Alexander’s Midway Funeral Home, 3607 E. Highway 199 in Springtown. A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6 at Ascension and St. Marks Anglican Church, 5094 U.S. Highway 380, Bridgeport, TX 76426. Interment will follow at Springtown Cemetery.

Born Feb. 23, 1963, in Russellville, Arkansas to Wallace and Janie Street, Taressa graduated from Springtown High School in 1981 and went on to work as a paralegal and document specialist. She had the joy of falling in love and marrying Barry Mathis June 6, 2015. They loved spoiling their grandchildren and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Street and Janie Fultz; stepfather David Fultz; mother-in-law Annette Mathis; and brother-in-law Darrell Mathis.

Taressa is survived by her husband Barry Mathis; children David Young and wife April, Derek Young, Marcus Mathis, Macey Melton and husband Casey and Myranda Mathis; grandchildren Travis, Trevor, Trinity and Violet Young, Callen, Jayce and Jett Melton, Zayne and Zaylee White; stepmother Shelby Sory; sister Sondra Street; brothers Wally Street and wife Dena and Eric Street; sisters-in-law Debra Cozart and husband Larry, Beverly Leatherwood and husband Maynard and Sheri Mathis; several nieces, nephews and more friends than anyone could count.
