Elizabeth Ann "Tootie" Hall, 82, of Springtown, passed away peacefully at home Sept. 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to her family, a spirited entrepreneurial work ethic and decades of service to her community.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30 followed by a celebration of life at 6 p.m. at Springtown Church of Christ, 315 Church St. in Springtown. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her honor to Neighbor to Neighbors Food Pantry at P.O. Box 1391, Springtown, TX 76082.

Known affectionately as "Tootie" since birth, she was named after Judy Garland's young character in the classic film “Meet Me in St. Louis.” Born May 5, 1944, to the late Bob and Bertha Roden of Haltom City, she shared a loving, committed marriage of 49 years with her beloved husband, Jerry Hall, who preceded her in death in March 2013.

A devoted mother and Nana, Tootie’s family was the true centerpiece of her life.

A dynamic and hardworking businesswoman, Tootie tackled every opportunity with grit and passion. Over the years, she helped manage the family fertilizer business by keeping the books and frequently driving big trucks. She also owned and operated a local floral shop in Springtown and later took full charge of running the family farm's Black Angus cattle operation and hay business following Jerry’s passing.

Her broader career spanned more than 30 years in advertising, marketing and corporate leadership. Her professional journey included outside sales for print and broadcast media across Texas — including newspaper management and work with radio stations KWBY in Edna and KJIM in Fort Worth. At Color Tile Supermart Inc., she served as executive assistant before advancing to product buyer, negotiating vendor agreements across 800 stores. Later, at Cash America International, she served as executive assistant to the marketing director and led Franchise Services across 20 states. Most recently, she served as an advertising executive for The Azle News and Springtown Epigraph.

Beyond her family and career, Tootie was a pillar of her community, dedicating time and leadership to improving the lives of those around her in Springtown, Azle and Parker County. Her civic service included recent work as a board member of the Neighbor to Neighbors food pantry, where she made daily pickups from local businesses that donated food. She served as a board member of the Springtown Area Senior Citizen Center, where she managed building rentals and Saturday night dances. She spent several years on the Springtown Area Chamber of Commerce as a board member and ambassador. 

For many years, she worked tirelessly for the Springtown Education Foundation as a board member and fundraiser, increasing available scholarships each year. She also served two separate terms on the Springtown ISD board of trustees — making history as its first female member and later its first female president in the 1980s and early 1990s before returning to the board in recent years and eventually stepping down in 2024. Additionally, she spent several years as a child advocate and ad litem for CASA of Parker County.

Tootie will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her children, grandchildren, extended family, colleagues and the countless neighbors and friends whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her loving family: her son, Mike Hall, and his wife, Kim, of Springtown and grandsons Jake Hall of Dallas and Josh Hall-Murray and his wife, Liz, of Kingston, Arkansas; her daughter, Wendy Kennedy, and granddaughter, Abby Kennedy, both of Springtown; her son, Pat Hall, and his wife, Lisa and grandchildren, Zach Hall of Lewisville, Erin Gomez and husband Daniel of Decatur and Savannah Hall of Springtown. She is also survived by her sisters Margaret Sanders of Haslet, Catherine Roden Waits of Lake Dallas and Barbara Abu-Ghazaleh of Beirut, Lebanon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
