Local church youth groups give back

Local youth spearheaded a spring-cleaning effort this past Saturday, Feb. 28. A joint youth ministry project included four local churches: Springtown Community Fellowship, First Baptist Church of Springtown, Hilltop Family Church, and New Hope Baptist Church. More than 60 teenagers worked together to touch up park benches throughout the walking trails of Springtown Park.

“We’re looking for a way to serve our community and just live out our principles of our faith,” commented Shaun, a youth pastor at Springtown Community Fellowship.

“It’s serving their communities. They are getting a chance to spend time with each other and serve together,” youth leader Katianna said about the positive experience of group volunteerism.
