The city of Springtown will use $300,000 in grant funding approved by Texas Parks and Wildlife to enhance its public park system, with a large portion dedicated to updating Springtown Park to include an all-inclusive playground.
The all-inclusive playground will replace the city’s splash pad and will feature equipment designed for both disabled and able-bodied children which will expand on overall accessibility and improve the overall park experience.
According to the parks master plan that is published on the city’s website, additional improvements could follow if further grant funding is secured. The master plan includes basketball and pickleball courts, a music playground, a designated dog park with seating, flex space for town events, and additional parking. The plan also includes “dinosaur track” signage to highlight the historic dinosaur footprints located within the park.
