SHS cheerleaders head to New York for Macy’s parade

The SISD board of trustees voted to approve an out-of-state trip for the Springtown High School varsity cheer squad during its March 30 meeting, clearing the way for the team to travel to New York City and perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in November.

Head cheer coach Candice Adams and members of the varsity cheer squad presented the request to the board.

“This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us,” Case Campbell, an SHS cheerleader, told the board. “It’s our chance to represent our school on a nationally televised stage and it’s something our program has never done before.”
