The Springtown City Council voted to approve an amendment to its subdivision regulations Thursday, March 26, when it adopted Ordinance No. 2026-O-1104, Option B. Discussion during the council meeting focused on how to address drainage issues in future development.

“As you know, we have been working diligently and quickly to amend our zoning ordinance as it is reference to lot-to-lot drainage that has become a serious concern with regards to future development here in the city,” City Administrator David Miller said.

Originally, Option A, a proposal that was modeled from cities similar in size to Springtown, was drafted. However, after further review, city staff determined it was incompatible with Springtown’s development patterns and existing infrastructure.
